Always wanted to learn to quilt? No better time than the Present. 

This class is for the true novice. We will go over the basics from what tools to use & how to use them all the way through to quilting & binding your quilt.

As you learn and practice the techniques for quilting, Christi will walk you through creating this quilt from start to finish with your fabric choices. It will be ready to give as a gift for Christmas or to keep for yourself…to snuggle into this Winter:) You can do this!!! WOOHOOOO!!! 🙂

By the time the class is finished, you will learn why each of the tools listed below are considered essential, and know how to use them effectively. More important, we want you to get started on the right foot - so we will also give you 15% off the purchase of any or all items you need!

Same holds true for choosing the fabrics for your quilt!

You will need the following:

Pattern:
  • The pattern, "Cathedral",  by Villa Rosa Designs, is required for this class and is included in the initial cost.
Fabric:
  • One JellyRoll (2 1/2" fabric strips)
  • Binding and Backing fabric
  • Batting - Twin Size
  • Centers - 3/4 yard
  • Background - 1 FQ or 3/8 yard
Equipment:
  • Your own sewing machine with a 1/4" foot (If you do not yet own a sewing machine, please talk to us). Sewing machine should be in good working condition and have a walking foot attachment.
  • 18"x 24" Cutting Mat
  • Rotary Cutter
  • 6"x12" Ruler
  • Straight Pins
  • Basting (curved safety) Pins
  • Magnetic Pin Holder or Pin Cushion
  • Small Scissors
  • Thread for Piecing 
  • Thread for Quilting
  • A Couple of Large Ziploc Bags (for keeping cut pieces organized/protected)
  • (optional) Small clips
  • (optional) Best Press Spray
  • (optional) Wool pressing mat
